Is filing bankrupcy my only option?

My husband and I have a combined monthly income of $3200.00. We have $2,750.00 in current bills and expenses. We also have credit debts to pay off and have contacted a consolidation firm to consolidate our debt at $350 a month for 24 months making $3100.00 a month we are spending. We have no savings and cannot live on $100 a month for food for two people. I want to try to get a second job part time, but I live in Michigan and there are no jobs. Someone suggested for me to get into tastefully simple and do parties because I am outgoing, but am not sure if it pays well or will be worth it.

Please give me your suggestions for my situation, only a serious answer will be chosen thanks|||Your are correct, bankruptcy is ONE option. Your suggestion of obtaining a second job is a great idea, even if it is at Burger King or McDonald's flipping hamburgers.

Also, try lowering some of your monthly expenses. For example, if you have a cell phone, try finding a cheaper plan that meets your needs. The same thing with your Internet or television. If you have cable or satellite TV, go buy an antenna for your TV until you are in a better position to afford more expensive things. There are always ways to reduce your expenses and bills.

You can even do things like shop around for cheapier car insurance, or trade-in your current car for a more affordable car with better gas mileage and cheapier payments. Cut going out to eat and start buying generic products. Have you tried to refinance your mortgage (if you have one)? Or, if you are renting, have you tried to find a cheapier apartment?|||Can't tell what kind of expenses you can cut, but you can always earn more money. Work on weekends, get a second job after the first, whatever it takes to boost your income! You're not bankrupt, you just need to make more money! Bankruptcy itself would cost you a few grand in attorney's fees, anyways.|||tht really ain't the way to go because if you have a teenager and they want to go to college don't forget their going to need help wit incomes and they can't really support themselves for college, claiming bankrupcy ain't the way to go...... : [
